Easiest Way To Put A Kiteboard On
This article is going to cover the easiest way to put a kiteboard on. Over the years of teaching kiteboarding to people of different athletic or no athletic backgrounds, this method is the most consistent for everyone. In the beginning, kite control is still new. When adding another dimension, the board, it is easy to lose focus of the kite. Here is the easiest technique to put a kiteboard on.
Five Steps To Put A Kiteboard On
This method is best for conditions with consistent winds and flat waters. Choppy conditions and gusty winds will make this more challenging. However, gusty winds and choppy waters are not suitable for beginner kiteboarders. In the right conditions, this method works every time.
Step One: Land Kite at the Edge of the Wind Window
Take the kite down to the edge of the wind window. Take your time and be patient to land the kite slow. The kite should sit comfortably at the edge of the wind window.
Step Two: Let Go of Control Bar
With the kite at the edge of the wind window, let go of the control bar. The kite should not move in this position. With consistent winds, the kite will be in a stable position. This will allow you to focus on the board.
Step Three: Position Board Between Kite and Rider
The third step is to position the board between yourself and the kite. Having the board in this position will provide resistance to any pull from the kite. It will also help keep your body position set up appropriately. Because if the body position is not right, it is easy to become backwards or not face the kite.
Step Four: Put Board On
To put the kiteboard on, start with the back foot. The back foot is the foot that is further downwind. Or in other words, if the kite is to the left, start with the right foot. You can hold the board handle or the opposite footstrap for leverage.
Step Five: Launch Kite
Slowly launch the kite. First, visualize the top side of the kite. Trace that outside steering line back down to the control bar. That is the side to pull to launch the kite. Take your time and be patient to bring the kite up slow.
